Travel is often perceived as one of the elements having the largest environmental impact. Unfortunately for many of us in the world today, no matter how much we genuinely care about the environment, ground travel is often an unavoidable part of our working lives.
Driving Force Global is committed to reducing the impact of its carbon emissions on the environment. While the pace of change to reduce carbon emissions is heavily reliant on new technology, engines, renewable energy, and biofuels, Driving Force Global is committed to participating in making this change happen sooner. We strongly believe that sustainability is the right way of doing business, and we should all do our part for the environment.

We believe that implementing these measures is an essential step towards better control and reduction of our future carbon emissions. It is however extremely difficult for a business to eliminate all the carbon emissions it produces. Carbon offsetting is one of the solutions to compensate for those unavoidable emissions and to help us meet our carbon reduction goals.

Carbon offsetting works by purchasing carbon credits which are sold in metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. The funds raised through the purchase of carbon credits directly contribute to the financing of verified carbon reduction projects around the world, such as renewable energy, forest protection, and fuel-efficient cook stoves, which would not otherwise be financially viable.
We are now working with Natural Capital Partners to voluntarily offset all ground transportation emissions through the DFG Carbon Offset Programme. For every service booked through us irrespective of location, DFG voluntarily identifies, calculates and offsets 100% of the estimated amount of CO2 generated throughout the journey on behalf of its clients.
All the contributions are used to support projects verified by “Natural Capital Partners” and adhere to the highest standards in the carbon offset market – Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Gold Standard.
We have focused our offsets on two portfolios of projects aiming to improve the health and well-being of local populations, primarily in Asia, and the protection of biodiversity in this region. These projects reduce the amount of C02 being produced and therefore offset the C02 emissions from your journey or other activity.
The Prosper Portfolio includes fuel-efficient cook stoves, household biodigesters, and water purification, which reduce emissions and household air pollution through the implementation of sustainable energy solutions. The Habitat Portfolio includes reforestation and avoided deforestation projects, which ensures the protection, maintenance and expansion of forested areas.
